Outfit post: Sunshine girl

Friday, April 27, 2012

I spent my day touring stores for my job and enjoying the nice weather.  For once this week, the weather was steady and wonderful and I thought it was a perfect day to wear my Lamb and Flag shirt. This shirt is quickly becoming my favorite! Enjoy!

*Unfortunately I broke my camera so it's hard to take good quality pictures on my phone so until I get my baby fixed I'll post pictures of what I wore this way.

T-shirt, Lamb and Flag c/o Kellwood company . Floral fringe jacket, Forever 21. Black flutter shorts, Guess.

Fabulous Girl's guide: Tie Dye Manicure

Tie Dye is one of the biggest trends in fashion right now and it is everywhere from tops to shorts and now on nails! Here is a tutorial on how to get tie dye nails. Enjoy!

Time needed: 1 hour

Items needed:
Desired nail polish (you can use as many colors as you want)
Fingernail polish remover
Small bowl 2 to 3 inches of water (the cooler the better)
Tooth pick or orange stick
Cotton balls / cotton swabs
Tape

Used: Butter London's nail foundation and top coat, Nail's inc Westbourne Grove, Portobello, Kensington Park Road, La Nails (White) and Vitamin E cuticle oil pen.

1. Clean nails with finger nail polish remover. I used Butter London's Nail Foundation before I began to paint my nails. I use this with every manicure to protect my nails.
2. Paint your nails with a base color of your choice and let it completely dry. Tape around the top of your fingers leaving only the nail exposed. (Its really hard to take a pic with your fingers taped)

3. Fill small bowl with two or three inches of cool water. If you use warm or hot water your nail polish will dry on top of the water immediately. (Don't use a Styrofoam cup...apparently nail polish eats through Styrofoam. Learned that the hard way!)

4. Let small amounts of polish drip into the water.

5. Take a tooth pick or orange stick and make a design and with the polish

6. Gently place your nail in the water where your design is and let it dry.

7. Apply a topcoat and let it dry. Take fingernail polish remover and remove any polish that may have gotten onto your fingers. This is a very messy project! (the picture on the left is the finished project!)

Here is also another option if the design above is too much! (Wearing: Kensignton Park Road by nail's Inc.)

H ello There.

I love these sandals from Zara and I recently went to South Coast Plaza in hopes to find them and they weren't there. The last thing I need is a new pair of shoes but these are amazing and need a safe home in my closet.

Coachella Fashion recap: Weekend one

Monday, April 16, 2012

The first weekend of Coachella is over and more than the amazing performace by Snoop Dogg and Tupac everyone has been raving about the fashion. Many celebs came out wearing their best boho chic attire. Here are a few of my favorite photos from the event. Enjoy!

This was the first weekend of California's biggest music festival and it's important to know what basics to take so you can be prepared and have a great time! Here's a list of simple must haves! Enjoy!

Band tee
It doesn't' matter who the band is, just make sure it's a shirt that you love. I've seen everything from The Spice Girls to The Who. Whatever band you like make sure you represent them!

Denim cut-off shorts
They go with everything and can be dressed up or down depending on the event you are attending...need I say more??

Festival sandals
Chances are you'll be on your feet all damn day so why not wear something comfortable and and cute. It's a good idea to bring two pair of shoes so you can give your feet a break.

Backpack
No one wants to be at a festival carrying around a huge backpack meant for school children. Try a leather backpack that is functional but not so bulky.

Sunblock
Anytime you are outdoors it is a good idea to wear sunblock and to remember to reapply. Even though this weekend is going to be cloudy, there are still sun rays out there waiting to damage your skin.

What did you take to the festival?
