Rep yo city Pt. two

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

On Saturday I went to a chili cookoff in my hometown and I had so much fun. There is no other way to spend a three day weekend than with your family out in the sun! Here are a few snapshots from the cookoff. Enjoy!

How did you spend your memorial day?

I'm from Riverside, CA (located directly in the middle of LA and Palm Springs...blah blah blah) but since I work in LA don't get to hang out much in my hometown. So I spent Saturday with my family at the Chili cookoff roaming around, eating everything in sight, and looking at antique cars. Here is what I wore. Part II is coming up next!

Fabulous Girl's Guide to: Orange Juice and Baking soda facial scrub

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

I was feeling a little yucky yesterday after I got home from work and wanted to do something to wake up a bit. I decided to try an orange juice and baking soda face scrub to freshen up my face and put my pep back in my step.

What is it good for??
Orange - tightens pours and brightens skin
Baking Soda - exfoliant and fights acne
Powers combined - Great for treating breakouts caused by hormonal changes and getting rid of blackheads

- Baking Soda
- Half an orange
- Bowl
- Spoon

Total time: 20 minutes

1. You will need an orange, baking soda, and a bowl to make this mask.

2.Squeeze orange to get fresh orange juice. ( I wouldn't recommend using processed orange juice)

3. This is what it should look like.

4. Put one tablespoon of baking soda into the orange juice and mix.

5. This is how the mixture should look.

6. Apply to your face with a brush and scrub or wait until dry. It will start to flake off if you leave it on for too long.

7. Rinse with warm water! Done-zo!

Have you tried this?  Feel free to share your thoughts!

I had an insane weekend. Trips to the hospital for my gram, shopping everywhere for a dress, birthday parties, house hunting in Los Angeles, and I still managed to squeeze in a little time for the beach. Here is my journey, enjoy!
My purchases from Urban Outfitters California 50% off sale.

Solar eclipse. The last time we were able to see an eclipse I was 8 and the next time we will be able to see one in Cali I'll be 85!

Shopping at Southcoast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA. Looking for a dress for my work party...still searching.

Feliz cumpleaƱos mom! Love her to death!

A quick stop at one of my favorite places in the world. Newport Beach, CA

I hope you all had an amazing weekend!

DIY: Newspaper Nails

Sunday, May 20, 2012

My newest nail experiment. Tell me what you think!

Supplies Needed:
Nail polish of your choice
Cotton Swabs
Cuticle oil ( I strongly recommend it due to the use of alcohol)

1. Start with clean manicured nails.

2. Paint nails the color of your choice. The lighter the better (I'm wearing Yummy Mummy by Butter London)

3.Let nails dry completley.

4. Tear or cut pieces of newspaper to fit over each nail.

5. Place  a small piece of newspaper on nail.

6. Take cotton swab and rub alcohol over nail ( it might be easier to tape the paper on your finger)

7. Make sure the newspaper is wet with alcohol. Press paper hard and gently peel away from your nail. The ink from the paper will transfer to your nail.

7. Time for top coat!

What should I try next?

Turned Up Turquoise

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

I recently purchased China Glaze's Turned Up Turquoise and it has easily made it's way to the top of my favorite colors! It was a little sheer when I applied it so I applied a coat of white polish underneath to make the color more vibrant (my own little beauty tip). It's the perfect color for the summer!

Club Paradise

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

On May 11, I went to Drake's Club Paradise Tour and had a great time. It was a birthday gift to my older sister and I'm glad that the show was amazing. Here's my journey...enjoy!

The concert was at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas

My ticket! I intended on going to the Carson show but it sold out. I can't complain about spending a weekend in Vegas.
Ass...ass..ass (Big Sean voice). Some guy felt that it was appropriate to stand right in front of me while we were waiting for the next act lol.

2 Chainz. I'll admit that I didn't know much about him before the show but I really like his music.

Waka Flocka Flame did an amazing job.

J. Cole!

Drizzy is in the building!

My sister and I after the concert! I screamed and danced like a crazy person! By the end of the show my hair was a national disaster.
