This time last year I wanted nothing but to be happy and at peace. I spent 70% of my time at home in my bathrobe and the other 30% at a job I was extremely unhappy with. One day I read a quote that said, "If you have the power to create situations you don't like you have the power to create situations that you like." So I quit my job, made an effort to exercise everyday, and made a vow to change my life and live the way that I was meant to.
By December, I was offered a job at my current company and I was out of my depression. That's why this Thanksgving is extra special and meaningful to me. I've learned to find the good in any situation and to keep pressing on. I am blessed with an amazing family, great friends, and most importantly peace and happiness.
My Thanksgiving wish is that you all find something to live for and hold onto that. Keep pressing on no matter what and follow your dreams! I thank each and everyone of you for reading everyday and helping me reach mine!
XOXO Happy Thanksgiving!

I was super excited when I checked my mail on Friday and found butter London's Holiday 2012 collection!
I am totally obsessed with each of these colors and can't wait to wear them in my upcoming fall and holiday outfit post (I will upload detail shots of each color as I wear them).
Here is a small break down of each color:
Fiddlesticks - Magenta glitter in a raspberry base. It's full coverage so it can be worn alone.
Scuppered - Opaque, copper shimmer with pink, gold, and green glitter. I like to think of this one as "the party polish"
Jack the Lad - Green shimmer with gold and turquoise glitter.
Fairy Cake - Clear base with very fine light silver glitter.
Scallywag - bright turquoise glitter in a clear base. This polish is show stopping and the name takes the cake!
Thank You Siren PR and butter London!

I’ve been dying over bib necklaces for a while but I wasn’t exactly sure how to wear them. After seeing them in tons of magazines I decided to take the plunge and make my own and I was extremely surprised. Remember the necklace from this post? Here is my tutorial on how to make a pearl bib necklace! Enjoy!
- 1 piece of 81/2 x 11 felt (color of your choice)
- At least 2 yards of strung pearls
- 1 sheet of blank paper
- 1 foot of ribbon
- Pen or pencil
-Heavy duty glue or craft glue
1. Create a pattern for your necklace on a blank sheet of paper.
2. Cut out pattern and place on felt. Be sure to flip one of the pieces of the collar so they mirror each other.
3. Trace pattern onto felt with a marker or chalk.
4. Cut out felt into the shape of the necklace.
5. Use hold puncher to create two holes at the top of necklace. This is where the ribbon will be strung though!
6. Use Craft glue or heavy duty glue to attach beads. (I accidentally cut my strand of pearls so I had to individually place each bead)

On days where I actually have free time I love cuddling up with my laptop and reading other blogs to see what my fellow bloggers are up to. Here are a few of my favorites and why I read!
Queen Shmink – She’s obsessed with her nails and nail polish as much as I am. And I’m slightly jealous that she lives in a place where it gets cold enough to wear fur!
Sincerely Jules – My friend and I check her blog everyday to see what she is wearing next. I love her "California cool" style and how she can pair sneakers with everything.
SwellMayde - Aimee is my "go-to" DIY blogger. She makes very simple things I would actually wear in public!
GabiFresh – A friend of mine told me about a blogger that wore lucite heels during the day and sent me the link to Gabifresh and I instantly became a fan. Not to mention she because an office favorite with her Fresh Prince Halloween costume.
All photographs were taken from each bloggers’ website.

I can't express how happy I am that President Obama was re-elected last night! I saw many of my friends posting their "I voted" stickers and taking a stance in what they believed in. Regardless of who you voted for, I'm very happy that as young people we made our voice heard and turned out in record numbers. Let's stay this amped up about all things that we do and see how much of a difference we can make in the world :-)
And lets face it...I now have four more years of wanting to be like Michelle Obama when I grow up (love her)!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because I can dress up, be silly, and eat candy until I’m sick. I’m not sure what inspired my costume but I am very happy with the outcome!
What was your Halloween costume and what inspired it?
